Harvest Management
The Harvest Division is responsible for the
conduct of treaty reserved fishing rights in order to provide the
maximum opportunity for Lummi fishers to secure maximum sustainable
harvests according to the best available science, provisions of
Title 10, and applicable Federal Law and Court Orders.
Watershed Restoration Division
The
mission of the Watershed Restoration Division is to protect and
restore salmon habitat which is critical to the restoration of the
salmon stocks traditionally relied upon by the Lummi people. The
Division has worked to protect and restore salmon habitat for over
ten years, has made extensive progress in implementing habitat
restoration projects, and has become a restoration leader in Water
Resources Inventory Area 1 (WRIA 1), the Nooksack River Basin.
Timber, Fish, and Wildlife Program
The
mission of the Timber, Fish, and Wildlife (TFW) Program is to
identify and address threats to salmon stocks listed under the
Endangered Species Act within the Nooksack River Basin.
Through participation in the review of actions such as Forest
Practice Activities and Road Maintenance and Abandonment Plans, the
Program strives to make salmon recovery a reality instead of simply
a vision.
