Job Summary
Under the supervision of LNR staff biologists and Fisheries Harvest Manager,
the Field Technician will be responsible for assisting with invasive European green crab (EGC)
trapping following Lummis current EGC trapping protocols. Field work will entail walking long
distances (>1 mile) along the shoreline, carrying field gear and samples (up to 50 lb) for extended
periods of time, and sampling specific areas of beach and marshland by setting traps, identifying and
measuring EGC and associated by-catch in the sample area. The Field technician will also be
responsible for recording data in the field, taking detailed legible notes and entering data into a
database. This is a part time position; up to 20 hours per week.
