Job Summary
The AWARE Resiliency Advocate fulfills a crucial role of instilling an understanding of cultural factors as they relate to school-age youth and families, accessing mental health programs/services. The AWARE Resiliency Advocate will perform initial contacts to conduct outreach and support with youth and families who are referred for services. An important part to expand a child’s mental health is connecting youth, families, schools, and community, increasing engagement and involvement in the promotion of wellness. The AWARE Resiliency Advocate will identify, provide services, and support prevention and early intervention to school-aged youth and families, by bridging, linking, or mediating between services, and school systems for the purpose of reducing conflict or producing change. The AWARE Resiliency Advocate will work under the direction of the Healing Lineage Lead; collaborate with AWARE and Behavioral Health staff in accordance with the project goals and objectives; coordinate and/or execute service delivery with AWARE LEA Project Managers, to facilitate opportunities to increase mental health awareness and access culturally appropriate education and materials to school-aged youth and families
