Job Summary
Lummi Counseling Services has expanded its program to provide Mental
Health-Substance Use Disorder (MH-SUD) support by opening a 24/7 Secure Withdrawal
Detoxification center. The Certified Community Behavioral Health-Expansion (CCBHC-E) is a
grant given to support “increased access to improve the quality of community MH-SUD treatment
services”. The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) will provide services to the 24/7
Secure Withdrawal Detoxification clients & to Level 1 Outpatient/Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient
persons. Individual services functions performed by SUDP include screening for eligibility, intake
to programs, orientation to program goals and rules, client assessments, group counseling, crisis
intervention, client education, referrals, report, and record keeping, consultation with other
professionals regarding client treatment services, and ADIS. The SUDP will work closely with the
courts, with Drug Court participants, and with Whatcom County Jail for clients needing inpatient
treatment. The SUDP will work closely with OTP Program Manager for ongoing services with
LHSC and will assist with training of new OTP SUDP\SUDPT Counselors ensuring proper training
of policies and procedures.
