Lisa found a home in Bellingham where forests, bay, streams, and mountains drew her back to school to begin studies toward environmental science at Whatcom Community College. She then attended Skagit Valley College where she earned a bachelor of science degree in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Conservation (BASEC ) program. Starting in July 2021, Lisa began working in the Lummi Natural Resources Department as a seasonal field technician, trapping invasive European green crab in Lummi Sea Pond. Since then, she became the AIS Division data specialist, organizing field data for use in analysis and mapping of EGC trapping progress.
