Job Summary
The Public Health Nurse for Communicable Diseases and Emergency Response is a critical position within Lummi Tribal Health Center. The person in this position is responsible for communicable disease prevention and management, and emergency preparedness and response. In addition, the person in this role provides public health guidance to Lummi Indian Business Council (LIBC) departments and works closely with Lummi Nation School and Early Learning to provide timely guidance on disease prevention and health promotion related to communicable diseases and emergency preparedness. Other activities include but are not limited to immunizations, testing programs, health education and advocacy and coalition building. The person in this position may perform some or all the listed duties and other duties as assigned, depending upon the needs of the community and clinic. This position is supervised by the Public Health Deputy Director for Communicable Disease and Emergency Response. The person in this role also works closely with the clinic’s Public Health Nurse and Population Health Data Manager, Infection Prevention and Occupational Health Nurse, Population and Public Health Department Manager, Director of Population and Public Health, and administrative staff.
