About the Program
The New Life Center (NLC) offers voluntary withdrawal management and stabilization services for individuals with opioid use disorder, as an extension of services of the Lummi Healing Spirit Clinic (LHSC) Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).
- Length of Stay: 5–7 days, based on clinical needs
- Patients must follow LHSC policies and actively participate in care planning
What to Expect
Before Admission:
- Complete a phone screening
At Admission:
- Urinalysis, COVID test, breathalyzer, vitals
- Medical approval required before entering NLC
Upon Entry:
- Head-to-toe nursing assessment
- Shower and change into NLC clothing
- Belongings inventoried and stored
- Private rooms for all patients
- Cell phones locked (limited access available)
- 72-hour blackout period (no visitors or calls)
Support Services Offered
- Recovery coaching & transportation
- Individual & group counseling
- MOUD (Medications for Opioid Use Disorder)
- Housing & medical referrals
- Inpatient treatment referrals
Services Not Provided
- Detox for alcohol, benzodiazepines, or stimulants
- Management of acute psychosis or serious mental illness
- Patients requiring a higher level of care will be referred accordingly
