Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT)

Amy began her counseling career at Bellingham CTC in January 2025 as a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT) and moved to LCS in June 2026. Prior to joining Bellingham CTC, Amy gained experience at SeaMar Visions and Clearfork Academy—both co-occurring treatment facilities supporting adolescent girls—where she developed a strong foundation in assisting young individuals and those with complex behavioral health needs. Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University and an Associate’s degree in Substance Use Disorder Studies. She graduated with top honors from Whatcom Community College in 2023, demonstrating her dedication to academic achievement and her commitment to the behavioral health field. As someone in long-term recovery, Amy brings authenticity, empathy, and lived experience to her work. She is passionate about supporting others and believes in meeting individuals where they are. Utilizing a person-centered approach supported by effective motivational interviewing techniques, Amy focuses on helping clients recognize their strengths and build confidence in their recovery process. Amy is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where clients feel heard, valued, and encouraged to take meaningful steps toward healing and personal growth.
