Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Shellfish Biologist III and senior-level staff, the Field Technician II/III will provide technical and administrative support in monitoring and assessing shellfish populations within the Lummi Nation’s usual and accustomed fishing grounds and stations (U&A). The Field Technician II/III will primarily be assisting with intertidal shellfish surveys and supporting subtidal shellfish survey work. The incumbent can expect to spend up to eight hours a day on their feet, full days on research/ commercial fishing vessels in variable weather and carry loads of up to 50 pounds. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation. This position is funded for 40 hours per week between March 1st, 2024 – October 30th, 2024. This position is not eligible for health and retirement benefits.
