Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Fisheries Biologists (EGC), with input from other division
staff, including the Aquatic Invasive Species Division Manager, the AIS Seasonal Field Technician will be
responsible for assisting with invasive European green crab (EGC) trapping and removal on Lummi
Reservation tidelands, including the Lummi Sea Pond, following existing protocols. Fieldwork will entail
walking long distances (>1 mile) along the shoreline, carrying field gear and samples (up to 50 lb.) for extended
periods. EGC removal, trapping, and sampling will also entail setting traps, measuring EGC, and identifying
associated bycatch in the sample area. The AIS Seasonal Field Technician will also be responsible for recording
data in the field and taking detailed, legible notes.
