Savannah Whaley joined LNR as the Climate Change Manager in 2025. She has a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Harvard University and a master's degree in environmental justice with a focus on Indigenous land rights from the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. Previously, she worked for Alameda County Office of Sustainability on climate adaptation, the Heising-Simons Foundation on climate and clean energy grantmaking, and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe in Northern Michigan on climate resilience and Tribal land management.
The Climate Change Manager coordinates the implementation of LIBC’s 10 Year Climate Change Plan within the Natural Resources Department and the community with the goal of creating climate resilience in Lummi Nation’s built and natural environments. Additionally, the CCM supports climate -related work and projects across LNR divisions and LIBC departments.
