Shelbi MaderaShelbi Madera

Shelbi Madera joined LNR as the Climate Resilience Specialist in 2024. She is a proud mother, Nooksack Tribal member, and lifelong Whatcom County resident. A graduate of Northwest Indian College with a B.A. in Native Environmental Science, she is dedicated to protecting Treaty Rights and the health of the land, water, and all living beings. She is committed to uplifting Lummi community voices, creating space for input, and encouraging youth involvement in climate justice. Grounded in cultural values and ancestral teachings, she works to unite Tribal communities in confronting environmental and political challenges through collaboration, advocacy, and care for future generations.
