Announcements
Please avoid waterfowl hunting in the Lummi Seaponds.
Due to the invasion of European green crab (EGC) in Lummi Bay since 2019, LNR has staff trapping and collecting data on this species in the Seaponds. For the safety of our staff we ask that all waterfowl hunting within the Seaponds be avoided.

Keep an eye out for Hoof Disease
Treponeme Associated Hoof Disease (TAHD), also called Hoof Disease or Hoof Rot, is a disease associated with treponeme bacteria that cause abnormal growth and deformities in elk hooves. If you harvest an elk with abnormal-looking hooves, the LNR Wildlife program will take all 4 hooves or (any that look diseased) cut off just above the ankle joint to send in for diagnostic testing. Follow the link below If you would like to learn more about TAHD or to report a limping elk.
