Water Quality Standards

The purpose of the water quality standards program is to attain fishable and swimmable waters within the Reservation, and to adopt and implement rules to protect and enhance public health. The Lummi Nation water quality standards apply to all surface waters of the Reservation. As described in Lummi Code of Laws Title 17, both tribal regulations and federal laws regulate water quality on the Reservation. Tribal laws and regulations related to water quality protection are available in the Laws and Regulation section of this website.
