The funeral support specialist will be available to administer funeral support services via telephone, email or zoom with immediate family. A purchase order for clothing (for deceased) and Purchase order for flowers will be delivered to family. The funeral cost to funeral home (up to $4400) will be covered by the Lummi Funeral Support Program.
Eligibility
All enrolled members of the Lummi Nation, who were residing within the boundaries of Whatcom County at the time of death and are being buried within Whatcom County, shall be eligible for the maximum contributions from this burial and funeral assistance fund. All enrolled members, who were residing outside of Whatcom County at the time of death and are being buried within Whatcom County, shall be eligible for the maximum contribution from this burial and funeral assistance fund. All enrolled members, who were residing outside of Whatcom County at the time of death and are being buried outside of Whatcom County shall be eligible for the care of body coverage, and are not eligible for the incidental costs.
Family Gatherings are restricted
The funeral support specialist will work with the identified next-of-kin for the immediate family only (husband, wife, child, grandparent). Gatherings of individuals who do not normally live in the same household are not allowed at this time.
