The Lummi Tribal Court may have jurisdiction over certain parentage and child support matters involving Lummi children, Lummi parents, tribal members, families living on the Lummi Reservation, parents working or holding assets within the Reservation, or cases referred by another jurisdiction.
Jurisdiction depends on the facts of each case. Program staff review jurisdiction after receiving an application and supporting documents. Submitting an application does not guarantee that the Lummi Tribal Court has jurisdiction.
When another jurisdiction is better able to handle a matter, staff may refer or transmit the case to the appropriate tribal, state, or other child support agency.
