Important update for commercial fishers
Fishing Validation and Child Support Compliance
Need to reinstate a fishing validation suspended for missing the October 2026 signing deadline?Complete, sign, and have the conditional agreement notarized, then send it to LNCSP. After LNCSP receives the agreement, reinstatement on the child support end may take up to two business days. For a suspension due to payment noncompliance, contact your assigned case manager instead.
Reinstatement Instructions Under Lummi Indian Business Council Resolution #2026-109, qualifying commercial fishing validation is conditioned on compliance with child support obligations. Fishers who are required to complete the Conditional Tribal Fishing Validation and Child Support Compliance Agreement must follow their child support order or an agreed payment plan established through LNCSP.
If a full month's child support payment is missed, the agreement provides for a notice of noncompliance and a 14-day opportunity after notice is issued to contact LNCSP and make an agreed-upon payment before the described suspension process. Fishers who cannot pay in full should contact their assigned Child Support Case Manager promptly to discuss their circumstances and possible payment arrangements.
Already suspended? The agreement includes a second-chance process to return to good standing. Contact LNCSP to review the required steps. The former fisher tax has not been reinstated by this resolution.

Important Notice About Established Parentage
LNCSP does not disestablish parentage.
Parentage may be established through a court order, valid acknowledgment of parentage, or another legally recognized process.
If parentage is already established, LNCSP will not use genetic testing to dispute or disestablish legal parentage.
